2025 MB Morgan Horse Club Hosts CMHA Convention

Welcome back to the Manitoba Morgan Horse Club Website. We apologize it had been lost in action for a period of time it is up and running again.

Flash back to 2025 when the Manitoba Morgan Horse Club and CMHA Manitoba Zone hosted the 2025 Annual Convention and AGM in Winnipeg at the Victoria Inn. Friday April 11th was the CMHA Board of Directors meeting.

Following that was a Relaxing Morgan Horse Evening at Roycan Country Haven in Portage la Prairie. Candice Kontzie opened the presentation by providing a brief history of the Morgan horse in Manitoba and the establishment of the Manitoba Morgan Horse Club. Following this Candice along with several of her beautiful Morgan horses as models provided a demonstration on CranioSacral Therapy. A tour of her Morgan horse barn and refreshments followed.

Participants also had the opportunity to bid on Silent Auction items. The organizing committee would like to thank all the Morgan Horse Clubs, Zones, Manitoba Horse Council, businesses New Rosedale Feedmill, and individuals who provident financial, in-kind and auction items to support this event. Participant Gift Bags: Green Hawk donated the bags. Items for gift bags were donated by  Pure Anada Inc. (natural cosmetics), Mad Barn Canada, MB Horse Council.

Thank you goes out to the Victoria Inn Hotel and Convention Centre - Winnipeg. Also to Inland AV for their audio-visual expertise and equipment. These 2 businesses also need to be recognized for providing discounts to our Organization.

Our convention concluded with a delicious banquet. Our Guest Speaker was - Dr. Mylia Richards DVM.

Dr. Mylia spoke of the Morgan world as “family”.  Her presentation highlighted how that Morgan world, including her 2 heart horses Pinehaven Lynette and UC Merlin, shaped her as a 10-year-old in pony club, as a youth and adult competitor at Canadian events and Oklahoma, as a farm business owner with her husband, as a professional veterinarian and a lifelong caretaker of animals. 

The Banquet concluded with announcing of the national CMHA Awards. Highlight for the Manitoba Zone was that our only youth member, Kaisley Hrabarchuk, along with her parents Carmilla and Micheal attended their first CMHA Convention and Awards Banquet.  Kaisley, as Manitoba’s youngest CMHA member, and her mother Carmilla were the recipients of numerous CHMA awards.

A huge thank-you to the dedicated members of the Manitoba Morgan Horse Club who volunteered may hours towards the success of the 2025 Convention. This event would not have occurred without you!
